2026-2027 Association Officer - State Culture
Meet your 2026-2027 Association Officer team:
Hello Iowa DECA! My name is Noreen Diaconu-Voinea, I am very honored to serve as your Association President. I will be a senior at Ames High this year; DECA has always held a special place in my heart. Over this upcoming school year, I hope to build connections with all advisors and members.
On behalf of our association officer team, we are excited to introduce our state culture. More than just a group of words, we want to see our members build their communities around them, so each member discovers their legacy and becomes DECA’s next big thing.
Iowa DECA is so much more than an organization, but a community of leaders who are dedicated, empowering, considerate, aspiring, and much more. With that, this is more about our state culture:
Vice President of Community Service
My name is Kevin Du and I am honored to serve as your 2026-2027 Vice President of Community Service. I am a rising senior at Cedar Falls High School, and this will be my fourth year in Iowa DECA. One word I believe describes Iowa DECA members is dedicated. DECA members work hard at growing their business knowledge to become the leaders of the future. I’m excited to see Iowa DECA members grow as they Discover their Legacy and become the Next Big Thing!
Vice President of Marketing
My name is Emma Deal, and I am honored to serve as your Vice President of Marketing. I am a junior at Gilbert High School and have been very involved in DECA since my freshman year. This year, I look forward to building connections with chapters, advisors, and members while helping everyone make the most of their DECA experience. One of the most unique and beloved parts of this organization is the community it creates. These meaningful relationships encourage us all to improve both inside and outside of DECA. To empower others is to push them towards success. This year, our team aims to foster a space where members and advisors alike can create those meaningful connections. We see Iowa DECA as a community where all individuals are pushing their peers towards success for the betterment of our association. We can’t wait to see what this upcoming year will bring for you and your chapter!
Vice President of Leadership
My name is Allen Cai, and I’m honored to serve as your VP of Leadership. I’m going to be a senior at Ames High School. When I think of DECA, many things come to mind: the competitive aspect, the commitment our members bring, and the community that we are a part of. DECA simultaneously embodies achievement and compassion. One word that encapsulates these two qualities is considerate.
To us, being considerate means being thoughtful. This applies to both the care and time our members pour into preparing for competition as well as the empathy shown towards each other and through community service projects. By implementing consideration as part of our state culture, we hope to highlight our strong community built through mutual respect along with the competitive nature of DECA.
Vice President of Career Development
I’m Elizabeth Wahlman, your 2026-2027 Vice President of Career Development. I’m excited to share what our state culture word, Aspiring, means and how I hope we can all embody it throughout this year.
For our team, the word aspiring means hoping, dreaming, and working hard to achieve a goal. It means believing that there is always another goal to reach, another skill to develop, and another opportunity to grow. It is about the work that you put in to turn your dreams and aspirations into a reality.
Through Iowa DECA, we have opportunities to discover our legacy through different competitive events, leadership opportunities, and the connections that we make. Whether you’re preparing for competition, exploring future careers, or going outside your comfort zone, every experience is a chance to grow and achieve something incredible.
Being aspiring does not mean that you have to have everything figured out; it means that you are willing to learn, challenge yourself, and embrace new opportunities. Your legacy is built through every goal that you set and every step you take toward becoming your best self.
This is your year to become aspiring, so dream bigger, encourage those around you, and never stop believing in yourself.
